Michel Gondry
Michel Gondry was born in France in 1963 and he is a professional music video director. He is know for his unique styles to the music videos such as 'Go' by the Chemical Brothers. He is very popular in the music video industry after working with many popular artists such as, Radiohead, Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers etc. However he doesn't only make music videos but he also directs television commercials such as Levi jeans 'Drugstore' which has won multiple awards.
Here is the television commercial for Levi Jeans and as you can see the commerical is extremely abstract and unique. Due to the unique ideas it won many awards and since then Michel Gondry has been very popular/ successful.

The two music videos above are popular products that Michel Gondry has directed and as you can see there is no performance aspect within either of these music videos. Gondry prefers to create music videos with more meaning than performance as he feels as though they are more effective/ meaningful to the audience.
I support Gondry with this though as when watching a music video without performance I also take note of the cinematography, locations and the message that the director is trying to convey across to the audience.
I have been influenced by Gondry and will use certain techniques, such as little performance in to my music video production and hopefully it will be as successful as his.
